DailyPhotos > Christine  > Smugmug Galleries > Photo a Day Project 2009

A Photo a Day (also known as Project 365) - What is it?? It's exactly what the name implies - a photo is posted each and every day for a full year. You can choose to impose whatever rules or criteria you wish- some photographers insist that the photo be taken the same day it's posted, others will post an older photo that they "Photoshop" the day they post it, and still others don't impose any rules at all. My goal for this project is to take several photos every day and choose the best from that day to post. I have been able to stick to it for the most part (with one or two exceptions so far). I carry my Nikon D300 wherever I go- it's now like one of my limbs. It's one of the most challenging things I've ever committed to doing but so far it's been well worth it. If you've got a minute to spare, go ahead and hit the slideshow button. And don't be shy about giving a photo a “thumbs up” or even commenting if you see something you like. :D

Lastly, for those visitors that aren't members of Smugmug, the photos posted to this gallery are critiqued by photographers that belong to the "Daily Community". If you click on the "DailyPhotos" link above (it's next to my name), you will be taken to a gallery with photos posted by other the members. There's a lot of beautiful work out there.... you can get lost for hours.

Christine > Day 275: Cretian Cat II
October 3, 2009
I took these shots earlier in the week. Can you tell I loved this cat? I couldn't tear myself away from him. His eyes were so intense and he was fearful of nothing. I put my camera on the ground with my remote shutter release attached to it, stepped away and waited for him to approach. The first click of the shutter (top photo) caused him to look down at the camera so I snapped another shot. If I could have taken him home, I would have. :)
Christine > Day 274: Street Level
October 2, 2009
Sometimes I like to put my camera on the ground and shoot at random to see what I get. I liked the lines and the perspective.
Christine > Day 273: Cretian Cat
October 1, 2009
I fell in love with this cat with the intense eyes. He was so curious and fearless and was clearly the leader of the pack. There are lots of strays on the island of Crete but they all appear well fed and healthy. Crete is famous for their cats. This guy was sleek and muscular and gave some serious eye contact. I loved him.

Christine > Day 270: Weekend at Bernies?
September 28, 2009
Lorrie, seen on the right, had two spa treatments this vacation and she was limp as a wet noodle. She didn't even want to lift her head for the picture so I said she was like Bernie from the movie "Weekend at Bernie's". For those of you that don't know the movie, two young guys go to the summer home of a rich aquaintence who they discover is dead. They want to stay for the whole weekend so they drag his limp body around with them and pose him so his friends don't suspect he's dead.
Christine > Day 269: Cheers from Mykonos!
September 27, 2009
The fab five are LOVING the resort in Mykonos. It's beautiful. I am not in the picture since I was sitting on the ground shooting the photo but CHEERS anyway!! :)
